Required papers depend on the country or region of origin:

  • European Union, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein: only National Identity Card or valid Passport is required.
  • Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Brunei, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, El Salvador, Guatemala, the Holy See, Honduras, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Monaco, Nicaragua, New Zealand, Panama, Paraguay, Republic of Korea, Romania, Saint Marino, Singapore, the United States of America, Uruguay, or Venezuela: valid passport is required. Maximum stay is 90 days.
  • If your origin is elsewhere, in accordance with the European Union criteria: a visa must be asked for at Spanish Consulate in your residence place. Also a valid passport must be shown to border officers. To people with these origins, Spanish Authority could ask either voucher of accommodation, confirmation of reservation of a package tour, return ticket, sightseeing circuit ticket or invitation of a particular. Likewise, they could ask you evidence of economic resources for your sustenance during your stay in Spain.
